We took the dogs out on the boat for the first time today. We really had no idea what to expect. Would they freak out? Try to jump overboard? Let the breeze flow through their fur and beg to not ever go home?
We put their doggie life vests on and, after we launched and tied the boat, Bruce brought them from the truck one at a time. They hopped right in and started exploring.
Bella, as usual, was a Nervous Nellie. She did a lot of panting and shaking. She doesn't quite trust that we know what we're doing...
Cody, however, just figured it was like a car ride, except on water. He's easy.
After being on the water for awhile, Bella decided that maybe, just maybe, we did know what we were doing after all, and joined Bruce up on the bow...wow wow.
And then she decided to see what was going on outside of the boat.
Meanwhile, Cody was proclaiming "I'm King of the World!!!" Such a ham.
By all accounts, the trip was a success. No dogs overboard, which was my fear. Cody absolutely loved it and would, I'm sure, go out every dang day if we let him.
They are both now sound asleep, dreaming of their big boating adventure. Another day in paradise...
Hello Cody Bear and Bella. So cute in their life jackets.
