When you move 800 miles away to start a new life, you wonder if you will ever see your friends again. They say they'll come to visit, but will they, really?
The answer is: they will! We have had more houseguests this summer than the entire twelve years we were together in California.
First came my party friends - Gloria, Cheryl and Sue. Yes, we did some partying. We danced, we drank, we watched movies, we ate chocolate. And we had a peaceful walk in the neighborhood with the doggies:
The morning that they left, I washed sheets, cleaned bathrooms, vacuumed and mopped and got ready for the next visitors who were arriving in a few hours: my sweet yogini sisters Christian and Gay. We had fun, too. Cooking, talking, practicing yoga and enjoying nature. Here I am with Christian at Pend Oreille:
A few weeks later, we greeted our former neighbor Cindy and her boyfriend Bill. It was so fun to catch up with them and, what do you know, we just happened to have picked up our new boat a week earlier. Guess what we did while they were here?
Our latest visitor was Jeanie, who happened to be riding through on her BMW bike from Montana to Oregon and realized we were on her way. She only stayed for one night. Wha'? There are so many things to see up here!
You really need to stay longer next time, Jeanie! And bring your husband! :-)
We do love seeing our friends and sharing our new home with them, and showing off our little town and the Idaho Panhandle.
Thanks, everyone, for coming to visit us this summer. And, by the way, winter is spectacular up here!
Bummed we missed the boat! And Jeanie looks awesome in her riding gear! What a cool bike!
